Use of Cookies and Other Technologies on Ixia Websites

This policy applies to the use of cookies and other technologies on corporate websites published by Ixia and its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively referred to as “Ixia,” “our,” or “we”).  We use cookies and other technologies to ensure everyone who visits Ixia’s websites have the best possible experience.   If you do not accept the use of these cookies, you may disable them by changing your browser settings so that cookies cannot be placed on your computer or mobile device.  Please be aware that because cookies are used throughout our sites, disabling them may prevent certain parts of the sites from operating optimally or as intended or you may not be able to access all or parts of our site.

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit a site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.

We use two types of cookies:  persistent cookies and session cookies.  A persistent cookie helps us recognize you as an existing user, so it’s easier to return to our sites.  A persistent cookie stays in your browser and will be read by us when you return to one of our sites.  Persistent cookies will expire after one year.  Session cookies only last for as long as the session (usually the current visit to a website or a browser session).

Purpose of Cookies

Our sites use cookies to record data and provide analytics on your use of our sites, such as the pages you have accessed, the date and time of access, and other tracking information.  We also use 3rd party remarketing cookies, including the Google Adwords tracking cookie.  This means we will continue to show ads to you across the internet, including on the Google Content Network.  The remarketing cookies are used to say “This person visited this page, so show them ads relating to that page.”

The cookie-related information is not used to identify you personally. These cookies are not used for any purpose other than those described here.

You may opt out of Google’s use of the cookies by visiting Google’s Ads SettingsYou may also opt out of certain other third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt out page.

What is Do Not Track (DNT)?

DNT is a concept that has been promoted by regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), for the Internet industry to develop and implement a mechanism for allowing Internet users to control the tracking of their online activities across websites by using browser settings. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has been working with industry groups, Internet browsers, technology companies, and regulators to develop a DNT technology standard. While some progress has been made, it has been slow. No standard has been adopted to date. As such, Ixia does not use "do not track" signals.
